How to Become an Automobile Inspection Site
CARCO maintains an extensive network of automobile inspection sites in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Florida.
These networks consist of vehicle-related businesses such as glass repair stores, tire stores, gasoline service stations, car dealerships, and muffler shops.
Benefits of becoming an Inspection Site
The primary benefit of becoming a CARCO inspection location is to bring automobile owners who live and/or work in your local area into your business. Close to one million vehicles require inspection each year, providing a great deal of potential new business. CARCO publishes thousands of inspection site lists for insurance companies and agencies, which contain the names and addresses of all CARCO automobile inspection facilities and provide free advertising for your business. Car inspection facilities are also available from our site locator.
CARCO vehicle inspection sites receive a fee for performing photo inspections, which take about 10-15 minutes. Our convenient mobile app or secure website help to streamline the photo inspection process.
The pre-insurance photo inspection consists of two parts:
THE VISUAL INSPECTION. an authorized inspector examines the vehicle for options, anti-theft systems, and rust and body damage. Information is recorded on an inspection report form, along with the name of the insured, the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and a description of the vehicle. Mechanical knowledge is NOT required to perform the inspection.
THE PHOTOS. Three color pictures are taken of the vehicle: two at oblique angles to obtain a view of all four sides of the vehicle and one taken of the VIN label, which is normally found in the driver side door jamb.
