Peerless Insurance™ Named Big I New York Personal Lines Company Partner of the Year
Keene, N.H. – February 3, 2009 – Peerless Insurance, a Liberty Mutual Agency Markets regional company, has been awarded Outstanding Super Regional Personal Lines Company Partner by the Independent Agents and Brokers of New York (IIABNY).
The award recognizes Peerless Insurance for its highest personal lines performance scores among more than 200 member agencies surveyed twice in 2008. Agency principals and those responsible for carrier relations rated companies in six areas, including underwriter empowerment, ease of technology, honesty and fairness, responsiveness of field personnel, fairness of profit-sharing, and whether the agency-carrier relationship is a true partnership.
“We are honored to receive this award from Big I of New York and their member agencies,” said Michael Christiansen, president and chief executive officer, Peerless Insurance. “It symbolizes the consistency and strength in our agency relationships. We’ve invested in advancing technology capabilities and local decision-making to promote our agents’ ease-of-doing business and it’s making a difference for us in New York.”
IIABNY Chair Neal L. Sullivan presented the award to Mr. Victor Pepin. formerly vice president, Personal Lines Underwriting, Peerless Insurance, and now vice president and Northeast regional general manager, Safeco? Insurance.
“High marks for Peerless in IIABNY’s latest survey demonstrates the company’s deep commitment to independent agents,” said Mr. Sullivan.
“With the coming transition of personal lines from Peerless to the new Safeco Insurance, we will continue to support our agents in the field and from our local office in Syracuse,” said Mr. Pepin. “Our agents can look forward to a broader appetite, greater product innovation, and increased agent touch points while still delivering the local presence, authority and local market knowledge that Peerless is known for and Safeco will carry forward.”
In 2008, Peerless Insurance increased its New York personal lines premium growth by approximately 30% and added greater field presence, bringing to six the number of territory managers supporting its appointed agencies throughout New York.
