The Wayne State University College of Nursing has a number of pathways leading to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.): Traditional B.S.N. B.S.N. for Freshmen. B.S.N. Second Career/Degree (CD2). RN to B.S.N. and B.S.N. for Veterans. The B.S.N. program allows a student to choose the optimal path to a B.S.N. based on his or her previous health care provider experience and education.

Individuals who have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing may apply to our Master of Science in Nursing (M.S.N.) program which offers several clinical specialties or the M.S.N. in Advanced Public Health Nursing (APHN) program, which is the only one of its kind in Michigan.

The Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing (Ph.D.) program enables those who possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree to obtain a Ph.D. in nursing. The Ph.D. program is designed to prepare researchers and scholars to provide leadership to the profession and discipline of nursing.

The Doctor of Nursing Practice (D.N.P.) program enables those who possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree to obtain a D.N.P. degree. The program emphasizes the development of the student’s capacity to impact the clinical setting as leaders and educators and to utilize clinical research to improve and transform healthcare.
