I had a very similar experience as the others who have reviewed this company. I am in the middle of trying to get them to pay a claim from an accident that occurred almost two months ago because I was hit by a driver insured by this company.
Because the other driver was at fault, I had to go through Safeway for my repairs and was assigned Janeth Capo as my claims representative. Unlike dealing with other insurance company professionals (Progressive and Infinity who were also involved due to the accident being with a rental car) this individual was often rude, curt and unprofessional. She hung up on me once because I was asking for details about how the process of the claim would work and I wanted to understand what I needed to do and what information was needed. Every single time I talked to her she would default to Call your insurance company when I started asking difficult questions.
As a backup, I tried speaking to a supervisor, however if you call the Safeway office you will get voicemail. If you try to get bounced out to the secretary you will also likely get voicemail. It is exhausting trying to deal with this company and get any direction or answers whatsoever. It became my distinct impression that this company will avoid you and try to wear you down by not being responsive and rude so that you will give up and abandon your claim. I have had to resort to filing a complaint with the Illinois Department of Insurance to try and get this resolved.
